Here it is...
Dear Senators Graham, and Mack and Representative Mica,
Gentlemen; We write to you as a constituents and as fellow caring human
beings.
As we write this message, the people of our Neighboring Central American
Country of Belize are being pounded by "Hurricane Keith".

The people of Belize are for the most part very poor, very caring and very
much in need of help from this terrible disaster immediately.

We ask you to use your influence in getting immediate help to these people
just as soon as the hurricane has past.

The northern portion of the country especially Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker,
Corazal and Belize City are being hit the worst and these low lying areas
will need a great deal of help to save lives. It is also anticipated that
floods and mudslides further south in the hills and mountains will present
danger to lives.

Anything you can do to cut the Red Tape expediting our countries help into
this wonderful little neighbor country will be appreciated.

Your two U.S. Senators and the Member of the U.S. House of Representatives that represents your district are the people to write to. State elected officials can't help on this one.
To locate the Names and e-addresses of your states U.S. Senators, go to www.senate.gov and then select you state and hit go. Then click on each of their names.

To locate the Representative from your district and his/her e-address, go to www.house.gov and scroll and click on "Who is my Representative".

Lobbying for immediate US relief and aid for Belize:
1. PHONE CALLS to YOUR elected officials are the best way to get attention. They demonstrate you REALLY care about whatever you are calling about and are willing to do it on YOUR dime. Personal signed faxes also good. Emails OK but less noticed unless they come in the hundreds. Better to PHONE or FAX. Emails more effective for Congress than for the Senate and forget it if you're trying to influence the white house. Use the phone or fax.

Its also based on your US zipcode + 4 which will locate your Senator or Congressperson and then pre-format your letter.

Considering that the LA Times didn't even write ONE LETTER of reporting on our tragedy it bears repeating that WE need to write all representatives TODAY and get the ball rolling to make a difference to the rescue/rebuilding effort in Belize...
