Hi,
I have been everywhere, on every site, learning everything I can about Belize, and Ambergris Caye. My husband says with all my knowledge, I should run for mayor. He really has no idea how much investigating needs to be done before we make this move. But, in all my investigating, I have never seen anything about home owners, or renters insurance, is there such a thing. And if not, what do you do if a hurricane hits, and you loose everything, and you have to rebuild?
Anyone want to take this one?????

Al the major insurance companies in Belize offer this insurance from cheap versions to total coverage. Total coverage is not as cheap as in the US but is available easily.

We got insurance on our concrete house in Belize for about the same price as our US house with twice the coverage (house in Belize is worth more). It covers everything from fire to hurricane, lightening strikes, even theft. I made a video of everything in the house and stored it. Our insurance company is RF&G in Belize.

ditto RE: RF&G. We've worked w/ them for a decade (back when they were F&G) ...they've always been great to work with, and more importantly, have been great to work with when we've had to file a claim. Super prompt, professional, etc. When you have to rebuild after a storm or such, the LAST thing you want is to be jerked around by your insurance Co.

With respect to agents, Willard is fantastic to work with.
