If you're heading out to buy butane, you'll need an extra two bucks because the prices have increased as of Monday. That puts the price in Belize City and Corozal at one hundred and twelve dollars. In Orange Walk, the cooking gas is being sold for a hundred and thirteen dollars while in Belmopan and San Ignacio the price of the hundred pound cylinder is a hundred and fourteen. Further west, in Benque the price is a bit higher at one hundred and fifteen dollars. But as usual, the highest prices are in the south due to transportation cost. So if you're down in Dangriga, you'll be paying a hundred and sixteen dollars for butane or a hundred and seventeen if you're buying in Punta Gorda.

Another Change in Butane Prices

Belmopan, 2nd December, 2010- The baking of your ham, turkey and black cake will add to the pinch in your pockets this Christmas. That's because the price per hundred pound cylinder of butane will be jacked up by a whopping eight dollars across the board. So brace yourselves for the new prices: as of Friday, Belize City and Corozal residents will pay one hundred and twenty-two dollars for cooking gas and those are the lowest figures. It's a hundred and twenty-three dollars in Orange Walk and in the west, Belmopan and San Ignacio consumers will pay a hundred and twenty-four. Even further west, butane will sell for a hundred and twenty-five dollars in Benque. And heading south, one hundred and twenty-six dollars is the new price in Dangriga and the folks in Punta Gorda will be charged one hundred and twenty-seven bucks. There was a two dollar jump in the price of butane on September twenty-seventh and another less than a month later on October twentieth.

The Supplies Control Unit in the Ministry of Economic Development, Commerce, Industry and Consumer Protection is hereby informing the general public that effective December 3rd, 2010 the new controlled price per hundred pound cylinder of butane is as follows:
