I am making the permenant move to San Pedro next month. I have a few items that I would like to bring that are "questionable". One is a replica 1715 pistol that is in a glass case. It is half plastic and is incapable of firing, but it is engraved and was a gift. The second is an old collectable wooden crossbow that is also in a glass case. This one would fire an arrow. Does anyone have any feedback on if I would have any problems bringing either of these items into Belize? I just don't want to lose them in customs.

Thank You

I'm no expert but it sounds like you might have some problems. I would give Belize Customs a call. It would be a shame to have them confiscated.

You would need an importation permit for both items. And honestly I think you would have a hard time getting the permits - even though they are basically ornamental.

I have a friend who has had a cross bow in customs for months. And the new gun importation rules and regs are pretty complicated and probably not worth the hassle til you get established.
