Hi all,

I'm currently working in Thailand, and am considering the possibility of San Pedro for my next move. Having been to Belize (although not SP) many times, one of the things that attracts me is the possibilty of living/socialising with both locals and ex-pats unlike so many other parts of the world ie Asia, where you end up in an ex-pat bubble.

My question is, I'm in my late twenties. Do many expats in this age range (late twenties - mid thirties) come to live in SP or is it mainly retired people? Obviously friendships are not limited to people in one age range - but it's always nice to have a few friends of a similar age! Also, are local people as friendly on the island as they are in other parts of Belize? Is it easy to make friends?

Thanks!!

LOTS of folks your age, and many oldies who act like they are teen-agers. People on AC are incredibly friendly - it's a signature trait of the culture. You'll love it here.
