Hi Again,

I've made all my reservations [6/20-6/22 at Ruby's, 6/23-7/2 at Seven Seas, and 7/3-7/6 back at Ruby's (pain to have to move twice!)], except for the flight from Belize City to San Pedro. What a shock! When I looked before, I thought it was $93 roundtrip, but it turns out to be $186 roundtrip. Is this correct? Could someone tell me how much time I should allow between arrival at BZE and departure for San Pedro, and ditto for the return trip? Also, is the airport in Belize City air conditioned?

I think all of us who will be down then should meet up for a 4th of July celebration! Any suggestions?

The $183 is in BZ dollars. I would allow an hour after arrival and 2 hours before departure. Have a great time!

Island Girl, the flights leave about every 15 minutes or so between Tropric Air and Mayan Air, so you won't have much of a wait once you get through customs. The airport starts out not feeling air conditioned but then gets much cooler as you go through it. Customs felt very warm because it is just as you walk off the plane, the doors are opening all the time, but then you will be greeted by Jet, and he will take you to his bar and get you nice and relaxed for your puddle jumper. It's all a very nice experience actually, and the air is filled with excited vacationers, so even though you are in an airport, you know you are on vacation. And the flight to SP is really wonderful and short, 15 minutes, and if the skys are clear, it is really very beautiful.
They will even let you sit in the co-piolt seat for the flight if you like. That is really great. [Linked Image]

Island Girl, I returned from AC just 10 days ago and I only paid $93 for the puddle jumper flight. It sounds like they're charging you for 2 round trip tickets? You can email the airline directly and clarify. I would allow about 1.5 hours coming into Belize and probably 2.5 hours on the return. That gives you enough time coming in to gather your luggage and go through immigration and allows for flight delays coming back into Belize International (those puddle jumpers can be late - mine was 1 hour late returning to Belize International).

I'm am pretty sure that is in Belize money. I remember it as being $52us one way. The water taxi is +/- $15 us + taxi from airport to water taxi is between $5-15 us. IMAHO he plane is sooo worth it due to the schlep factor, although if you're traveling light and are cost conscious, the water taxi is cool, and you could save a few bucks there and by provisioning at the grocery around the corner.

Usually the puddlejumpers put the wheels in the well as soon as they have a full load regardless of reservation; there is rarely more than a 2 Belikin wait--Go see Jet at his bar!

Regulars, am I correct on the cost of airfare from Bze city to San Pedro?

Airfare is $93Belize one way for Tropic Air, and $94Belize for Maya Island Air. This is according to their websites.

Just a quick question, where is everyone finding the $93 fairs? I just checked the web sites like Islandgirl and can only find the $180 fairs. Any help would be appreciated!

Go to www.tropicair.com and click the "schedules" button at the bottom of the page. Pick your "from" and "to" and it will show you the schedule with prices in Belize dollars (1 US dollar = 2 Belize dollars). So $93 BZE one way is the same as 46.50 US dollars.

By the way, take Franks advice and go right to Tatoo's bar...I mean Jet's bar and have a Belikin stat as soon as you get through immigration/customs. You can even bring it on the plane with you (Maya or Tropic) if you dont finish before departure.
