I wonder what he is eating and if he will make it back to the mainland safely.

They like the papaya trees. I would think "he" came south from the Yucatan, He was a juvenile so maybe they established a colony in Basil Jones. Just after Dean, I think, we got Toucans for several months, maybe some stayed in the highlands of Basil Jones. It should stay around, I hope.

I remember we had a few toucan visitors after Dean. They are kind of comical in flight - but just so beautiful. The ones by our house disappeared after a few weeks, I had feared that they had died, but maybe they are thriving somewhere on the caye. I would like to think that is so.

Lots of birds I don't normally see around.
A Grooved-bill Ani was around here at lunch.

The Laughing Falcons I saw were a bit unusual as well. This must be something to do with climate change?

We have Laughing Falcons at Palmero Point most of the time. They sit in the coconut trees and shout at each other. Very cool birds.
