Hi, I am planning honeymoon trip to AC in the middle of September. I have been looking around for the perfect place to stay and could use a hand from some of the experts here.
Some background for you: We are planning to do 2 days of SCUBA, a trip inland to see ruins and ??? for a day. Plan to spend some time just lying on the beach, renting a kayak, snorkeling and just relaxing. We are not the first class traveler types, so I donít need the most expensive hotels. Would like to be close enough to town that we could bike or walk to town and eat at local restaurants and hang out with other people. On the other hand, there is a balance Ė we do not want to be so close to town that we feel crowded.
We would really like to stay in a stand alone thatched cabana/casita style room on the ocean. If the honeymoon room were not booked at Ramon's I would be set. Victoria House looks really nice, but it looks like it might be far from town. I have not heard of any real beach at Paradise Villas and know they donít have the single cabana style rooms, but the place does look nice. What about Capricorn Ė I hear the food is good, but what about the rooms?
If anyone could recommend other places I should look at I would really appreciate it. I have enjoyed reading through some of the posts here.

Ok, this is from someone who lives here but has stayed in the honeymoon cabanas at Ramons. They were very nice, however I would choose Victoria House over them. Better restaraunt, quieter location, and not to far from town if you like to walk. If you don't it would only be $5US for a taxi ride into town.
We have had a lot of business from Newlyweds. Ones that were on their honeymoon and ones that were married here. Most of them stayed at either Victoria House or Caribbean Villas. Both are secluded and very quiet with nice beaches. Caribbean Villas are condos with kitchens and Victoria House has it all. Either Private cabanas, condo style units or whole houses. Victoria House has a nice pool while Caribbean Villas doesn't have a pool but has really nice beach with a Palapa on the dock.
Capricorn is owned by some very good friends of ours and is a great place. Very north of town, great food and staff, with a wonderful ambiance. If you want seclusion and privacy this would be the place. However if you want access to town it is a little to far north.
What ever you choose I am sure you will have a great time.

Wishing you the best.
