We are heading to Caye Caulker for a few days in June. Our only experience with the island was a day sail from San Pedro last year. We spent time at the split and really enjoyed our day, but that was basically what we saw of the island. I saw some very nice condos near the split (Caye Reef looks really nice) or would it be better to stay in town (wherever that is). Seaside Cabanas looks nice as well. Or any other recommendations?

Thanks!

LOL! I guess I was looking at the prices on San Pedro and thought Caye Caulker was the same. Good to know it isn't. laugh

Hi,
My husband and I have stayed at Seaside Cabamas several times and have never been disappointed. The pool is great, the rooms are fine, for as much time as you spend in the room. The Uno Mas Bar, next to the pool, is awesome. We have had many a fine time there. The staff is good and I think the location is good. The Sand Box, and Amor Y Cafe, Rosa's and Habeneros, all within 2 minutes. BUT, since nothing is really far away, it's all good.
I would give Seaside Cabanas an A+.

We've stayed @ Seaside Cabana's and it is very nice, but I prefer Caye Caulker Condo's ~ we've stayed here the last 3 yrs. it's close to the split and the lazy lizard!

Loved the Lazy Lizard!! Is that where most of the action is on the island? Initially I thought that is where we'd want to be as far as accommodations because we'd be hanging out there a lot ... but sounds like nothing is very far away, so maybe staying in town would be the best of both worlds?
