I am coming for a week-long mission trip in July, and staying at The Tides. It's in San Pedro, a short walk from Holy Cross Anglican School, which is near a bridge. I would like to walk to SAGA to volunteer-walk dogs for them. Does anyone know how far/near SAGA is from The Tides? Sorry, I have only been to San Pedro once and don't know my landmarks very well!

Fort Dog is along the airstrip in the area behind the Belikin distributors.

A bit of a long walk from the Tides, but a short taxi-ride - there are some adorable pups there!

Good for you. Why not foster a dog or two while you are here?

Then you don't have to figure out how far to walk, or how to take a taxi back and forth from walking. I bet they have a perfect small companion dog to hang with you, keep you company, and also protect you (even though you don't need to be protected). If you foster one of the sweeties, it would help it to be adopted in the future. I think I am selling too hard..sorry.

I think as many dog lovers that can should foster a dog while here. Yes, it would definate help in getting them a permante home.

Wonderful idea! You should probably check with The Tides to make sure this is OK.

Oh, I couldn't do that. I will be at a mission trip at the school most of the time; I just wanted to do something of service on the weekend when we are not at the school. I will do what is in my power to help SAGA. I love animals! We have a small zoo at home: two dogs, two cats, two hermit crabs, and 3 fish tanks!

Well I have been down to SAGA and taken a couple of dogs for a walk. The first little guy was real jumpy the first time I took him, today he was way calmer. Going back for a short afternoon walk now.
EVERYBODY who cares for animals needs to get down there and walk those dogs. An hour out of your day.... c'mon people.

I'm happier than a pig in s__t...a foot on the sand...and a Belikin in my hand!
