Does anybody have info on the huge plane that did a fly-by yesterday afternoon?
It was black, a prop-plane, probably a military-type transport carrier. Flew out over the reef, made a steep bank and flew MAYBE 50 feet above the palm trees - I thought perhaps we were about to see a crash-landing, but it leveled out very low and headed south over the sea. It was HUGE.

Yes, it was olive-drab and skimming along the shoreline over the water north of the bridge coming from the south. The large side door was opened but did not see anyone inside. I saw it heading north and within a few minutes returned south so couldn't have gotten much farther north than the Mata Chica area. It was at about 100 feet, would have easily snagged a kite surfers sail.

Elbert, can I steal this pic for my blog? I'll give you credit, of course.

Does the Belizean Army have Paratroopers? Looks like an Airborne Op (or maybe a supply drop?) They can fly extremely low and slow, making them great for jumps and cargo delivery. They can also take off/land with an extremely short runway. And yes, they look even bigger when only a couple of hundred feet above you!
