Development guidelines for the Southern Coastal Region of Belize were discussed in Punta Gorda over the weekend. Our Toledo Correspondent Paul Mahung reports.

“The focus of a meeting held on Friday 28th January at Garbutt Fishing Marina Lodge, highlighted discussions and revision of a draft of the Development Guidelines for the Southern Coastal Regions as provided by the Coastal Zone Management Authority and Institute, Chairman of the FCCAC Southern Cayes Coastal Advisory Committee and Toledo Development Corporation TGC MarioChavvaria confirmed that a presentation of the draft guidelines was made by FCCAC member Chris Harris followed by discussions and recommendations for improvement by committee members. The Southern Cayes Advisory Commitee members also intend to oversee the drafting and implementation of development guidelines in their respective Cultural regions. The discussion sessions had the participation of representatives of the Toledo Development corporations.
