These ads are in response to making the public aware they have a personal responsibility to make sure the car or house they are in does not have inlicensed weapons or ammo. What usually happens in these cases, is the person too young for jail takes the rap for the older criminal(s) element. Also a plan to offer a grace period of one month to relicense guns and ammo so the honest person who forgot to do so on their birthday is not snared. Just another attempt to stem the flow of guns from north to south and what stays here. Too many guns in this town.

Will they be shown on local TV. One thing that I have noticed when going to the mainland is that they get a lot of public service announcements on their channel but we don't seem to get many here.

Anything that can be done to reduce the number of guns out there is a good thing though!

TV and radio station are required by the Bz Broadcasting Authority, as per their license, to run a certain amount of PSA's on their stations.

I can't imagine any way a person could prove the gun was there with out their knowledge or consent???

You'd have to track down the person who put it there and they would take responsibilty. Again, usually a kid too young for prison would take the rap.
