Hello All,

Will be headed that way (Ambergris Caye) with some friends for a week in Belize in June. I have been using the message boards for lots of information but can't get past this last piece.

The cost of my favorite Tequila, Patron Silver. The cost of it listed on the provisioning companies at the lowest is $98 (it's $48 here in the states). The other liquors didn't seem so high and just wondering if thats right -- or if the prices ranges from store to store. Are there other stores?

Anyone know the rules on bringing it with me from the states?

One couple that is traveling with our group has been before but everyone else it will be their first time. Anything you want to share for some newbies would be awesome!

I sold my business a while back but I did own one of the provisioning companies and my policy on the liquor was that it was priced the same as if you walked into the store and bought it yourself. I can't speak for the prices in the duty free shops though...

I found a post that said you can get 4 bottles per person at the incoming duty free shop near baggage claim at Belize City. Not sure if that is open everyday.

is that $98 BZ or US? Big difference. If it's BZ then that's only $49 US.

You can bring one bottle per person and one carton of cigarettes per person IF you buy them in a duty free shop in the US. If you buy them at the incoming (arrival) duty free at Belize International, you can bring four bottles per person and two cartons of cigarettes. While the amount is higher, the selection is definitely smaller than in the US. If you want to be sure to get what you want, I would suggest that you buy one bottle in the US duty free, and then see what is available in the incoming duty free when you arrive in Belize.
