ARGH!! I can't let this one get by me! We have a home 4.5 miles north of San Pedro, (a cluster of four similar homes, covering two lots, with a swimming pool in the middle) and the beach is raked every morning by Raymond, the caretaker. It is immaculate!
Maybe some of the homes do not clean their beaches, I don't know, but not all are dirty.
The lots which do not have homes built on them do have garbage. And this is one thing that did bother me when I was there. I kept wishing I had a large garbage bag to take on my walks with me. When I go in July you can bet that I will be on "garbage duty" every time I take a walk. Not sure yet what I'll do with it, but I'll figure out something. This beach garbage is not from people littering directly on the beach (from what I could tell). It is mostly the crap that people throw overboard when out on the sea, and guess where it lands?

This is the one thing I would like to change about Belize--that no one would throw garbage overboard.
