what should a visitor expect with regards to tiny critters that fly - hop and bite ie: mosquitoes -- sand flies etc Are they to be expected at certain times of the day/year -- or certain locations?

Mossies at dawn and late afternoon (4ish to 6-ish) in areas that are sheltered from wind.
No-see-ums seem to come only late in the year - all clear on that count now!

But its been great lately , hasn't rained in a month of Sundays and the bugs have retreated.
