Agreed I do see it all the way to Blue Reef right now and expect it to reach Tranquility Bay in 6 months but after that its going to get very slow going and Mexico isn't the goal.
Go to Google Earth and take a look at the terrain.
This is why we don't need border guards.

Oh wow, so you see tranq bay being assessable via a golf cart with a decent road being completed in the next six months?

Depends on the definition of "decent road." It is certainly accessible by golf cart now.

I did the road just last week so I'm feeling authoritarian :->
To Blue reef was doable in a golf cart and parts where quite scenic.
The power lines kept going after Blue Reef but seemed to be fresh and the road accompanying them was tough.
I cornered a couple of BEL power line workers in town a interrogated them. They said 6 months to Tranquility Bay and that was the end game!

Thanks for the info elbert, much appreciated! How far north of the bridge is tranq bay? Would you say roughly 19 miles?

19 miles is about all the island there is north of the Bridge.
Tranquility Bay is just before where the reef runs to the shore at rocky point, past Sueno Del Mar but before the Turtle Mans House.
