I do make a daily trip to Manelly's for two dips of coconut ice cream in a waffle cone when I am in San Pedro at 10am

My wife & I really like Caliente, her favorite is Ginger Rum Shrimp and I love the Maya Mar fish dish.

No Ras Safari/Robert? That is too sad. Best Jerk Chicken ever and he always treated us like family.
Fortunately Jambal Jerk is still around. Even though it always seems to be in a different location. Same great food. We would be crushed if they werent somewhere. Like when we lost Popi's.

Damn, Robert isn't coming back? Ras Safari has long been one of my favorite afternoon adventures. Sure, once in a while it wasn't open, but when it was . . . perfection.

Yes, agreed, if JamBel's is lost, I will be very sad.

I really really miss the Papi's of old and also Ambergris Delight was one of my long time favorites as well. Sigh.

But there are other places now for me to try and they will become my new favorites. smile

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

Robert was just lovely. Sad to see him gone. But don't despair, Robin's place, opposite from Royal Palms, under the thatch, does fantastic jerk chicken. Robin is Jamaican. He's a kind and very friendly man and his chicken is fantastic. I believe it is closed on Saturday.

Lion is no longer at MG Grocery, but on weekends somebody else has taken on the Bar-B-Q. Cute spot for a stopover on a drive north.

Also worth the drive - Nachos at Costa Maya - one order is a meal for two people. My friend from San Antonio swears these the best nachos she's ever had, and being from Tex Mex country she says she really knows her nachos. Burgers are darn good too. A very nice spot.
