Should I be concerned if it's not booked up? My husband and I have narrowed it down to Casita Buena Vista and The Tree House. Both away from town, I know - we'll rent a golf cart and head to San Pedro for dinner in the evenings (and for tours).

The Tree House looks amazing but it's completely open for most of June, July, August, and September. Should I be concerned?? Do any of you know something I don't? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I know Casita Buena Vista and its owner. Nice place and nice guy who goes out of his way to make his guests feel welcome.

I don't know Casa Buena Vista, so can't comment on it from experience, but I do know the Tree House and it's delightful.

The Tree House is a new rental property and not so many people know about it yet. When you're there also make a plan to go a bit north for incredible dining at Rojo, Mambo, Portofino ..... and great fun at Costa Maya as well. Great diving and snorkeling nearby.

Also - bookings these days are frequently last-minute, so availability should not deter your choice. Go for it!

(Nobody is full in September - most of us take that month off - and so do the travelers).

I just returned from a week at Casita Buena Vista, and found it to be just wonderful. As mentioned, the host is a nice man, his staff friendly, and it's a short golf cart ride from town. Looks like you can't go wrong with either accomodation. But if you stay at CBV, please give the resident dog Cookie a scratch behind the ears from me. I miss him company on beach walks very much!
