Do you consider Drowned Caye a 75 acre beachfront island?

Drowned Caye - Island Facts
The parcel is 75 acres of all beachfront facing the barrier reef. At 5,250 ft. long by 716 ft. wide covering a full 1.1 miles of all beach front.
The island also borders the Federal Manatee Sanctuary, offering a unique experience for guests of the resort - swimming and lazing on the beach with large, gentle mammals!
The Island is ten minutes by boat to Belize City, home to an international airport that will soon feature direct European flights, and of course, Belize is just a brief flight to and from major destinations in the USA.

I thought it was illegal in Belize to swim in areas where there are manatees present such as the Swallow Caye Marine Reserve, unless you have a permit for manatee research. Guess that doesn't apply to Drowned Caye?

As to direct fights from Europe, are there specifics as to which airline and when? For the past 20 years I've been hearing about the European flights that were coming soon, and so far nary a one has shown up.

The mangroves on the Drowned Cayes protect Belize City from hurricane and provide the largest breeding ground for the West Indian manatee.

So lets dredge it up, chop down the mangroves and have carpetbaggers sell it to the gullible.
This is getting to be such an old story!

Right!?

Lazing on the beach with manatees? Come on now! Although some people in swimwear could be mistaken for manatees, I don't see this happening AT ALL.

*sigh*...I really thought I was going to retire from environmetal protection but in reality I may just be opening the door on the rest of my life....I suggest we get a research predation permit for manatee wearing swimwear so we can dissect a few...would someone please see that the owner and the developer are swimming that day?
