Ya Gotta be kidding me! a Texan that doesnt know what an Rocky Mtn Oyster is ?? Its the Hanging down part of the bull.. AKA as bull fries. sliced thin, and deep fat fried quite good. Sort of like a Cajun friend once said about some kind of sausage he made.."The less you know about what goes into it, the better you will like it" Guess that applies to the cat in the kettle too!

A couple of the posters are correct as to what they are, they did come off a few different critters 'ie' sheep, mountain goats, big horn rams ect...times get rough you can eat domistic sheep or bull nuts. But as far as slicing them up and fat frying them forget it. It only ruins the taste and texture, the best way is have somebody holding the animal and you getting down and holding the jewels and taking a big bite. raw isbest as it adds to the flavor,
excitement and all the fun that goes along with it, besides you do not want for anybody else to handle the forbidden fruit before you get to it do you?

That's gross! I attended law school at Texas Tech, and every year the Phi Delts had an event before the A&M game called "Calf Fry." The Rocky Mountains were flying through the air and into all those drunk frat boys' mouths! Pretty funny to watch, but wouldn't care to partake...It was a far cry from the crawfish boils I was used to attending in undergrad...

Back to the topic:
I just made an appointment with the travel clinic in Austin, and she recommeded typhoid, Hep A, tetanus, and malaria pills. If I were just going to AC, I may skip some of these, but since I'll be spending a week on the mainland and in Guatemala, I'll get stuck a few times to ensure good health later.
