World Lions Service Day - SP Lions Club Planting at SPRCS
Lions around the world celebrate the birth of Lions Clubs International on the eighth of October. World Lions Service Day is a day when Lions boast and are proud to show the world what Lionism stands for. Here in San Pedro the Lions Club, along with the help of students, planted a few trees at the San Pedro Roman Catholic School.
On Tuesday, October 11, 2011, Lions President Marina Kay gave a brief lecture on planting and how to take care of them to Mr. Emidio Acosta’s Standard I class at the San Pedro RC School. After the brief lecture, the students were placed into groups to plant trees and flowering plants alongside the fence of the school.

Annually, Lions Club International celebrates World Service Day on October 8th. On Ambergris Caye, the San Pedro Lions Club observed World Service Day on October 11th with the planting of over 55 trees. The tree planting initiative on World Service Day coincided with the Lions Club International President Wing-Kum Tam’s goal of planting 1 million trees worldwide during his presidency.
