SIRI is the new voice control system for the iPhone.
well its amazing alright. I can just pick up my phone and say "email Derek and tell him that we are getting together tonight" and the lil lady voice on the phone says ok "here's what you are sending him are you ready to send it?" you say "yes" and off it goes.
does scheduling with voice, searching the web, "wake me up at 6 in the morning"gets an alarm set. "play some blues" starts some blues playing. "Call Dad" gets dad. "what is the square root of 350" gets an answer!
i'm stunned frankly. i've been using my phone all morning and haven't hit a button yet.
Ya know what Jesse, me too. AND when the high tect S@@t hits the fan down the road, all those people will just come to a screeching halt in thier lives cause thay won't know how to opperate.
Reality is only an illusion that occurs due to a lack of alcohol

yes Bear, and for those above, it's not really "high tech" to speak instead of tapping. It's just progress. it makes it easier not harder. more human-like, innate.
But we'll still remember how to tap if this speaking thing quits working!
yeah this is good with natural language. amazing actually. I have used voice control for years on my computers to avoid typing (i am a bad typer) and Siri's recognition is as good as any. Normally on my laptops and desktops i use "dragon naturally speaking" products
I'm told that SIRI only recognises a generic American accent. Speak to it in (British) English and it won't respond, or its response will be unpredictable.
