Hello - Does anyone have experience renting and shipping a 20 or 40' container of household goods to San Pedro? Specifically from NY if possible. I've been reading as much as I can, but would like some real world experience.

Thank you!

I've been using Hyde Shipping in Miami for years to ship stuff down to Belize. I've never shipped a container but I know they ship them. If you contact Benny Torres at Hyde I'm sure he'd tell you the best way. [email protected]

I brought a 20 ft container in from Houston a little over 3 years ago. Just deal with a reputable freight company like Hyde and follow their instructions. You will need a customs broker in Belize to get it cleared through customs. It will likely have to be brought out to the island by the local barge company, I can't remember their name. Herbert Bradley is the broker I dealt with in Belize city. He is a good, honest and reputable man that I can easily recommend. His phone number should be in the phone book. Bottom line is follow what the freight company and customs broker tell you to do and it will all be well.

Herbert Bradley is expensive. I shipped two 20' containers from Houston to BZ, and then out to AC. I will look up the broker we used and then PM you tomorrow.

I recommend Miguel (Mike) Torres. Don't have his number with me. There is a listing of all the Brokers in the Phone Book I believe.
