Can we have a protest every week until they reconsider? Perhaps there should be a protest at Ramones, right about the time all of the tourists appear.

There are not two ways about this. Tourists WILL be turned off by this. If they wanted flashing lights, they would go to Cancun or Vegas (those guys do neon better). Locals will be turned off by the traffic mess.

Who is benefitting other than the mayor and Ramon's. How DARE she say that she cannot change it no matter what the public says. THAT SHOULD OUTRAGE PEOPLE. Seriously lady, who do you think (misguidedly) voted for you?

Ok then, if they already bought the monstrosity, move it in front of her house instead.

at least now any crazed snipers residing on the island will have a convenient place to climb with their rifle.

Since obviously the mayor is a fan of their products, I am going to purchase and send down the enormous giant rhino statue pictured in the gallery here:
http://www.headricks.com/themeing/theming.html
and erect it on our beach. Or perhaps in the middle of the bridge, on second thought, I think it might work well there. It will be my gift to San Pedro.

Do you actually think anyone at the the town board actually personally approves of this foolishness.

The crazy thing is that if the clock (just the clock, not the Times Square simulation) were put somewhere IN the park it would be quite acceptable. As it is, it seems there willjust be room for a golf cart to pass either side whilst travelling along Front Street. Anyone attempting to turn to/from the side road will have a major problem, and they certainly won't be able to observe what will presumably be the traffic flow rules. There is no doubt that any vehicle much larger than a golf cart will be blocked by this edifice - not just a fire engine, but even a police pickup.

I have never seen anything so crazy, and I've seen some pretty crazy things.

This road is already shared with pedestrians. It is near a park...with children..children will not be seen because of the
clock and someone is going to get hurt. Yes...put it IN the park ....something for Coconut Leo to climb.

This will further aid her in closing down the street to all vehicless. Something she has wanted for a long time.

1) Is it an election year (yes? no?) Follow the money...whose war chest benefits?

2) Madam Mayor cannot or will not change it?
