The trophies and medals for this Saturday's National Championship
Regatta are all made and ready... in Belmopan. .... The plan to get them
here by Saturday has fallen through... and apparently, so has plan B, & C.

So, The San Pedro Sailing Club, indeed the entire Belize Sailing
Association, is looking for a good Samaritan who happens to be traveling
from Belmopan to San Pedro, arriving in SP, let's say, before Saturday at 4
pm at the very latest. The post regatta awards ceremony is scheduled to
begin at 5:30.

The situation is exacerbated by this news from the Sailing Club's
Commodore, Andy Milner: " Re the Medals, just phoned Tropic and they have no
one booked on the Belmopan flight for either Thursday or Friday. (Expletives
deleted)"

Anyone reading this who thinks he or she can help, please call the
club's press officer, Forrest Jones, at 610-4550 or email him at
[email protected].

Just so you know how highly prized the winning positions in the
forthcoming National Championship Optimist Regatta are, Brigadier General
(retired) Alan Usher has arranged for the BDF to perform what is called, in
military parlance, "a peaceful, non-covert extraction of the subject (the
awards)" from Belmopan to San Pedro. Now THAT's proper use of one's
military!

Cheers, Forrest

It sure would be cool to see the landing on SP of "a peaceful, non-covert extraction of the subject (the
awards)" from Belmopan to San Pedro! Somebody take a pic please! grin

I've already told you more than I know.
