Hi, We will be down February for our wedding and have about 16 guests. I am chartering a Catamaran for a snorkel trip one day and looking for advice on where to go. We have already done the SharkRay Alley and Caye Caulker trip a few times and looking for something different. Any thoughts.

Go north, snorkel at Mexico Rocks and somewhere else, and have lunch somewhere up there. Tranquility Bay if you can get that far.

Whatever you plan during the day hit Hol Chan late in the afternoon just before sundown. Amazing that time of the day!

Take the all day snorkel trip to the Blue Hole, Half Moon Caye and Long Caye. It is a little more pricey but well worth every penny of the trip. It was the highlight of our trip. Includes a wonderful lunch on Half Moon Caye. We went with Amigos Del Mar.

arusha - my suggestion - you are hiring a boat, let the captain suggest where you go. they know FAR more than the rest of us, and have the best suggestions. they know where the fish are, what time of day, etc. the rest of us are amatuers (even me!)...trust the experts. You dont need to decide until you get here, or even until that day. the weather will make a huge impact on where you go and how long it will take you to get there. trust your guide.

It also depends on the tide. Some areas are really affected by the outgoing tide (murky water), others not so much. As much as possible I try to dive on the incoming tide - clearer water.
