If so many of you were up early enough for breakfast, you must have comments on lunch places! Don't hold back, share your favorites as well as those you wish you hadn't even wandered into.

Name of place, favorite menu item, friendly server, best drink...? Or any gag alerts!

Here's my favorite lunch haunts. First, Caliente's. I love the food and the people. Second, Dianita's. A "not ready for prime time" joint between Coconet and the Veggy/fruit stand. The food is prepared at the owners home and delivered by cab. This seems odd, but it is real home cooking. The spice is there! Again, everyone is a joy there. Third, Tropical. This is the place across from Tropic Air painted in black and white spots. Busy place, but they have some good specials. Its a favorite of the workin locals. PS. On Wednesdays, its definately Mickey's Place for Burritos.

Don't want to get another "on line war" started, but Ramon's for the club sandwich is my choice. It includes grilled chicken breast and a fried egg. Great with the national beer.

Best servers - George and Trevor!

My favorite was the Shore Lunch at Kitty's. It was the best meal I have ever eaten. Our cook and tour guide was Rene of J&R Dive & Tours.

The club sandwich at Ramon's was really different and delicious. My favorite server on the island is Trevor at Ramon's!

It's tough to beat Papi's! He is fun to talk with while you are there.

Sweet Basils is also outstanding! I love the ferry ride at "The Cut."

Definitely Caliente - I can't remember the name of what I ate, but it was SOOO yummy. We ended up there a few times, always excellent food, great service, great atmosphere. We ate at some other places, but it was by far my fav. Papi's, of course, was fantastic, too. I still remember this older Belizean man that sort of "escorted" us to Papi's after we asked for directions. It was hilarious. I think he had had a few too many Belikins, but didn't everybody?!?!?! Then there was the sign on the wall with their drink list - and my eyes got big as I burst out laughing, asking "What the heck is a panty ripper?" LOL

I can't belive I almost forgot this, but my favorite lunch wasn't on AC at all, but on a Manatee/Snorkeling trip we took for a day with SEArious Adventures. My friends and I had gotten up early and they all said "let's have a good breakfast because we'll be out all day." For lunch and snorkeling we stopped on this tiny little island. Lunch was an absolute feast and certainly the best I've ever had cooked outside. We were wishing we hadn't eaten breakfast at all. Willie from Searious is a great cook - DON'T MISS IT!
