Thanks for posting that picture Elbert. I was thinking of taking a ride up there. That can wait for a while if that is what the conditions are.

Last year someone threw some fill in a muddy puddle and I saw some lumber sticking out. Closer examination revealed that the lumber had many nails in them with many sticking through a few inches. I pulled out that and disposed of it. Couldn't help but think though, what were they thinking putting such in there??? eek

Wow, I don't know who's equipment that is but I feel for them.

That was one of out biggest concerns and why we couldn't go north of Journey's end. We also pulled up a lot of debris people had tried to fill holes with. large boulders tree limbs as well as some 2x4 WITH NAILS STICKING OUT. I don't know who the brainiac was that thought it was a good Idea to put 2x4's with nails in a roadway unless it was deliberate sabotage.

In future please do not fill swampy holes with construction debris or large rocks. It just makes our job harder and it's also dangerous.

We need some hard core to fill up those holes.

I hope the next town council will be more "North friendly"

Yesterday we finished grading up to Captain Morgans. That is as far as the funding took us.

I will wait until the next Mayor is elected and will then talk to them about the roads North as we are obviously ignored by the present council.

If you are approached by a candidate, make your concerns known, or we will have to fund this all the time ourselves.

All things still good for the road up to Morgans? The bridge still off limits to taxis and such?

The Road up to Captain Morgans is in very good shape. All the large holes and ponds have been filled.

we tried to crown the road as best as possible, which is making it higher in the center so the water will drain off to the sides.

THe road will compact now by driving on it. For those who drive it regularly, please try to vary your pattern when you drive can so the whole surface compacts evenly, that is drive in the middle and toward the shoulders for a while, safely of course.

Property owners, when you see the little divits forming in front of your property, especially after a hard rain, if you or your staff can throw a bit of dirt in them before they get to bad we can keep it in good shape for a while, but please don't throw construction debris in them. Also if you see a pond forming and the water is blocked, if you can grab a shovel and "release" the water that would be great too.

If we all pitch in and help, we can keep it in fairly good shape.

The road is good all the way to our place at Journeys End but then problems begin trying to get more North.
I feel sorry for the folks who have the road at the end of their front porch.
The dogleg to the beach just North of White Sands Dive Shop and South of Indigo is sad.

I sounds like the road is in very decent shape at this point, how far, I have no idea, but I know it's good to the COCO/Grand Caribe areas.
