The remains of pelicans on the shoreline of Punta Gorda is a concern of birders who visit the area.
Paul Mahung reporting…
“The remains of pelicans on the shoreline of Punta Gorda is now a concern of birders who visited the area. Some concern Inhabitants who were at the Punta Gorda market wharf area confirmed that within the past two days three pelicans have died on the coastline at the market wharf. The dead pelicans have brought forth many questions by those who love birds and are affected emotionally at the sight of the three fresh remains of the pelicans on the rock shore. While other pelicans were alive on the rocks by the Punta Gorda Wharf, birders who were there commented that it was evident the remaining six pelicans were not well as a few stood very near as if keeping watch over their colleagues lifeless bodies while several vultures locally known as John Crow hovered nearby the area.”
