Riley, when do you arrive and how long do you stay. We will arrive on Aug 18, staying thru Aug 30. If we are there at the same time, we should meet for one or two Belikens (if Pirate leaves any for us). Cheers!

Its been rainy and windy at night, no problem though, helps keep the dust down during the day. I've gotten pretty good at predicting the next 5 minutes of weather in San Pedro as I pick up my painting stuff off the beach and make a mad dash for the apartment. The weather is... changeable... but never bad. The rain is not for long, and in the past 2 weeks we've only had serious rain at night, and lots of sunny days.

We just got back from AC on Wednesday. Had a terrific time and will post a report soon. The weather is hot and humid. Usually there is a strong wind blowing. At first it was annoying, then it died down and boy did I wish for the wind back. When it dies down, the heat becomes intense and the bugs get to biting. Only one day, out of 14, did it rain most the day, but we needed a relaxing, reading day anyway. All other storms blew through very quickly and the sun came out again. Have a great time!

Just got back yesterday (Friday) from about three weeks in Belize, 5 days of which were spent in San Pedro.

Weather was generally very nice -- little rain except some at night. Seasonably hot and humid everywhere from Corozal to PG. Guess it was in late July that there were some still days on the coast and cayes -- then it really got hot. Becalmed periods, maugers as they're called, are fairly common this time of year, especially in August, and they really bring out the bugs. Recent nights in San Pedro have been really pleasant, though, with a near full moon, too.

Only real downside was the water cut-off for close to four days in San Pedro and all over the south end of the island. (The story is that the water smelled like diesel fuel and was cut off -- don't know if that is the whole story or not.) The water starting coming back on Thursday morning, but not completely up to strength. Three or four days without flushing or showering in fresh water can be a bit dodgy, though some hotels were able to provide water from cisterns or old wells.

We are going to AC on Wednesday the 15th, finally! I was wondering if anyone has any information they can give me about the weather right now. I have heard that it is mostly sunny and nice, but weather.com says thunderstorms everyday we are there throug Sunday. Also, we are staying at the Victoria House, anyone been there?

Both are true... it IS sunny and nice, and there ARE thunderstorms every day! Don't worry. The storms are usually a very welcome relief, and very brief.

It has been reported on this forum that Victoria House is exceedingly nice accommodations. You will have a great time! Belize It!
