Saga Humane Society has been informed that there is an unsavoury individual going around the island 'collecting' donations under the Saga name. He has been described as a 'tall and dark skinned male'.

This individual has absolutely nothing to do with Saga, and Saga certainly does not expect to see any of the money he collects. Should you be visited by such a person, please do not donate to him, and please let Saga or the police know.

Though Saga staff or board members may visit businesses for donations of items to raffle or use as prizes at events, it is not policy to go around personally asking for money.

There is also a chance he may go around using other charitable institutions names too. There are many worthwhile causes here that need money, and will put it to good use. I fear this individual is not one of them!!!

Gross, but not unusual. Remember the guy who was out raising money for the football team ?

Or the guy raising money for the Haitian earthquake victims? When I was working, I saw it quite often.
