Most Limeys can vote, as after 6 months here you are eligible to vote in local elections but not national - I think.

I believe you have to be a permanent resident to vote -- and that takes being in the country for a minimum of a year (plus other requirements). Perhaps someone can confirm.

Maybe that's where all the money went that we got for the four additional traffic police we don't have.... to the tombstones?

Here's the government document regarding election laws and on eligibility: http://www.belize.gov.bz/public/Attachment/97153145471.pdf
I have voted in National Elections and Municipal Elections in the past as a Commonwealth citizen.

Elsa you don't have to put the plaques around town so that the town doesn't forget you. Sadly we will never forget you as you're going down in the history books as simply the worst mayor that this island has ever had. Please don't forget to put in the tombstones that you personally helped Dave Mitchell,as you said so yourself, get all his permissions for his projects, thereby compromising the enviromental viability of this whole island. In 9years no money for sports,no financial report,GBE,Sugar Caye, councillors hustling land and everything else,no master plan, family members using town board golf carts for personal use, where is the bridge money and the list goes on PLEASE put these accomplishments on the plaques.
