I had a look at winter records on the island for the last few years from December 1st to February 5th and this is what I came up with:

December 1, 2011 to February 5, 2012
Avg. Temperature: 79.2 F
Precipitation: 11.87in
December 1, 2010 to February 5, 2011
Avg. Temperature: 77.9 F
Precipitation: 1.24in
December 1, 2009 to February 5, 2010
Avg. Temperature: 77.2 F
Precipitation: 9.28in
December 1, 2008 to February 5, 2009
Avg. Temperature: 76.9 F
Precipitation: 9.62in

Notice the big increase in temperature and rainfall.

Wow! Very interesting. Even though this is our first winter here, it has been very different from what we expected -- warmer and wetter. I now see that we are not off-base in thinking that. It really has been warmer and wetter!

Warmer Wetter grows things, so that seems good, we need more vegetation.
