Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day for a walk into town.

As I walked past Caribbean Villas, I noticed the Belize Port Authority with hammers, nails and new signs.

They are posting this sign on every dock down the beach. Good work guys! Maybe a bit over cautious but that is MUCH better than no sign at all.

Any indication or buzz on how far (N&S) they're taking it?

Bear, last I heard they have 50 signs in hand. Here is the list of docks North of the bridge who are scheduled to get these signs. They are suppose to be the longest docks so they get the priority. Hopefully more signs are coming and people heed the warning. I do not have knowledge of who is getting them down south.

Ak Bol; Palapa Bar; Grand Caribe; El Pescador; Captain Morgans;
Belizean Cove Estates; Coco Beach; Belizean Shores; Seascape;
Las Terazzas; Solaria/Rendezvous; Journey's End; Indigo;
Los Encantos; Campbell's dock; Sundiver; McAffee's; Rojo Lounge;
Azul Villas; Mata Chica; La Perla; Portofino; Canary Cove;
Costa Maya

It's very good news. I saw them at Ramon's, BYC, Woody's Wharf, Caribbean Villas...lots of them going up!

Thats great Rags. Hopefully they'll have enough to make it at least as far south as the dock where the accident happened.

Barbara, You can also right click on the image in Sprout's post and select "Save Picture As..." onto your computer if that saves time for you.

Please pass along best wishes.

This is a big step forward, to gain awareness of the present danger when swimming from a dock.

While true, it is technically a copyright violation without the photographer's permission (just ask Collyk !!), although in this case undoubtedly a non-issue.
