I am planning a trip to San Pedro in October. Can anyone tell me what the nightlife is like that time of year? Singles, couples, good crowd, deserted ?

It is a small town but for a small town the night life is really quite good. Among many other thing there is a small casino, which I rather enjoyed.

I think it's a mix. My guess is there are more families and couples than swinging singles at least tourist wise. I know there are 2 clubs in San Pedro, Jaguars and Barefoot Iguanas but I can't vouch for whether or not they're any good. They looked pretty cool. I vacationed there 2 weeks ago and we enjoyed hanging out at the Purple Parrot @ Ramon's. There was always a fun mix of people there, families, couples, singles, tourists and locals too.

First of all...don't do marathon days like I did. The locals all go to bed after dinner, then get up and go out again! Nothing really starts until around 11PM or later! NO WONDER I WAS SO TIRED!
Lot's of YOUNG kids...the drinking age is 18, so be prepared for that.
I'm sure JMK was in bed by nine, so I'll give you the REAL lowdown! Wed nite...ladies night @ Dockside. The place was PACKED...a real meat market, but you'll get A LOT of competition from the local boys!
Thurs night..Jaguar Paw, karaoke first, then the dance floor gets going. Same as above. Friday night...Barefoot Iguana. A little farther from town...gets going even later...cool place with a great dance floor.
Sat...take your pick, but it seemed that this was the night the locals bring their families into town...don't miss this oppotunity to eat from the street vendors and mingle in the park. Slower paced than Wed, Thur, and Fri. (you'll need it by then!)
