Who at the town council would be in charge of piers? As far as I know (and please tell me if the laws have changed) piers are to be open to the public from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Apparently there are some persons who believe that they own their piers and can decide who can come on them and who cannot. We had an incident this morning with guests going out on a fishing trip who were to meet their boat at the pier we always use for guest pick ups. They were told they were not allowed on the pier.

I want to find out who at the town board is in charge of this so I can make a formal complaint. This has gotten out of hand.

All piers are public all the time. the 6 to 6 thing is just fiction.
Central government is in charge and reporting it can get the owner a letter threatening the loss of permission/lease to have the pier on the GOB's sea bed.
The gates are illegal also and a photo should be attached to the letter.

Talk to the mayor, he apparently already said that a certain hotel would have their pier removed if they did not allow people access.

Pedro's had a very similar incident with BYC so I'm sure they wouldn't be so stupid as to do it again, would they!?!?!?!

I'm told the SPTC and the Tour Guide Assoc stepped in to tell them they could not do this or they would shut their dock. Be a bit embarrassing for a Yacht Club esp at Easter with all those shiney boats there.....................
