We just bought a house near San Pedro and will need to furnish it. It's a two bedroom/2bath home. Not sure where to look for furniture and how to get it to the island. (We are from Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Too expensive to ship from here) Suggestions?

Should we shop in Belize City and ship it or perhaps in Mexico?

Thanks, in advance, for your suggestions.

Cheers!

We purchased all of our furniture from Hummingbird and could not be more pleased............great products, reasonably priced and excellent service.

Try Mr. C's furniture just one block behind the Belize Yacht Club and next to Pedro's Inn. They have floor models available and also custom make hardwood and mahogany furniture. Take a picture from Ikea and they will duplicate it, 95%. Make sure to ask for very dry wood and specify the stain. I prefer sanding sealer to give it a smooth shine and not the varnished look, costs a little more, but worth it.

His carpenter is in but he'll be in El Salvador until the 14th.

Very affordable also.

For US made furniture Mirab's Furniture Gallery offer Ashley furniture in Belize City, they make it easy for you to get it to the island.

Graniel's - "Dreamland" makes excellent pieces. Take drawing or photo to them and have things made right here on the island.

Kate at Sew What does a great job on cushions.

Rudy Reyes also makes great furniture. He just made some very fancy chairs for CoCo Beach and Kate covered the backs and cushions.
He has made a lot of custom furnishings for me.
