In our newscast last night we established the facts (according to eye witnesses) of what exactly transpired at the river near the Banana Bank area: Both Osbourne Grant and Allyson Thimbrel Jr. lost their lives. Shayla Burns, a very good friend and neighbour of the brothers, was at the home gathering last night, where we spoke with her as she dispelled the rumor and police report stating that the men were attempting to rescue a little girl, her daughter, from the water.
Julian Cruz, Journalist, PlusNews I want for you to recount to us, how the rumor came about that your daughter was somehow involved because they were trying to rescue her.
Shayla Burns I have no idea, up to now how that rumor came about - that it was my daughter that they were trying to rescue and that two of them died because they were trying to save my daughter, when she was not even in the water at all.
Julian Cruz With this being such a difficult time right now and I know Mrs. Foreman has declined an interview, how has the family and friends been dealing with it?
Shayla Burns I guess she is the person that is providing the strength right now, because right now she is rock. For her to have lost her two sons, I am amazed at her and how she is handling it really good right now.
She recounted for us how the tragedy unfolded and the family’s manner in dealing with the very difficult circumstances.
Shayla Burns When we reached at the spot, the minute we reached there, Allyson was very adventurous, he jumped in the water and Ozzy jumped in the water and just within seconds, Osbourne went down first.
Julian Cruz Tell us a little about both of these gentlemen, because now we are getting to know them because of this very tragic incident, but tell us about them otherwise.
Shayla Burns They were really nice guys, anything you needed, they would come across and help. They jump the fence and come hang out with us. Anytime you needed help, they were right now to help and do anything for us.
Funeral arrangements are currently being made for the two brothers.
