Brian Schweigler, 14, At Work
In late 2011,
N00bPwners.com, the video
game news Blog and Forum was
founded by Brian Schweigler, a
14 year old student of San Pedro
High School.
The goal of this site is to become
a successful and well known
video gaming community on the
internet. N00bPwners strives to
have a wide array of articles
covering video game news and
everything having to do with them.
To achieve this goal, he created
a site with a unique design and
recruited 10 international
volunteers and writers to help
with the website.
N00bPwners was created for
programers from around the
world to have a place to call their
own.
The site covers the following
video game platforms: Xbox 360,
Sony PlayStation 3 and Vita,
Apple iPad, PC, Android
tablets, the Nintendo 3DS, Wii
and Wii U.
Through having all of this, they
provide a place for video gamers
to discuss, get informed and meet
other people interested in video
games. N00bPwners specializes
on video game music and how
young talented people can start a
career in the video gaming
industry.
When the team at N00bPwners
first started, they did not have it
easy. The team was still small and
a lot of hard work was needed to
get the site to where it is today.
The result they got from all this
hard work is something that they
are proud of.
“It feels like we have
accomplished something
great,” 14 year old Brian said when asked about his thoughts on
the site. From the way he
explained, it sounds as if they
were a bit skeptical at the start of
N00bPwners. Their fears seemed
to be illogical as they saw the
site’s successful launch on the 29th February, 2012.
As of today, the team of writers
for N00bPwners consists of ten
international professionals. These
writers focus on news in the
world of video games, but also on
creating their own content. Their
content includes: reviews,
analysis, “Guide to Pwning”,
news, Top 10, informative articles
and speculation.
Today, just two month after the
launch, the site went from 250 entries to over 2,900 entries and
articles from the world of video
games. On top of this, N00b
Pwners also has hundreds of
video game music sheets from
over 100 games for Piano,
Violin, Flute, and Guitar.
As the only video game forum
for Central America, one major
focus of N00b Pwners is
education and careers in the video
game industry. The booming
industry offers a wide array of job
possibilities around the world. No
matter if in Belize or Australia,
jobs can be found anywhere, if the
applicant has the right education.
For this reason, N00b Pwners
provides also back ground
information on where to get
educated in video game
programming, designing, etc.
14 year Brain, has proven that
with dedication and hard work
you can accomplish anything
you set your mind to. He is also
encouraging teens and parents of
teens to take a look at his site and
open doors for themselves. The
only way to find out if you have
what it takes to run a site like
Brian’s would be to get out there and try it.
