It is finally here, after our wedding, my new wife and I are headed to Journey's End on the 16th.

While I have been watching the weather and praying for sun, I have a question.

We are planning a couple days of diving, and if it rains - how is the diving? The rain should not effect diving much should it? The light will not be as bright, but other than that, how is diving in the rain there?

If anyone is headed down next week, let us know. It is our first trip there, and we could use a hand finding our way around, and finding some good diving and stuff.

It's not so much the rain as the swells - virtually all of the diving (except for Hol Chan) is outside the reef, and if the seas are rough, getting out there can be interesting, as can getting in and out of the boat. One day we dove when we were there, you could still feel serious wave action at 45 ft. down. Oog.

We liked Hustler divemasters, particularly Chris; they are good about assessing your skill and comfort level and putting you in a good dive spot for your needs. I would recommend them, although I know there are a number of other good dive shops around - just see who you feel comfortable with. Have a blast; I'm still showing off my tan line (from my dive watch.)

BTW, if you can do it, the overnight trip to the Blue Hole is worth it - mostly for the other dives you get to do along the way. Half Moon Caye is awesome, so are Turneffe and Lighthouse.
