There have been numerous, serious burglaries and other crimes in the neighbourhood in recent months. This situation has escalated in recent weeks and it may be time for us to try to re organise. The police and Gene Lopez from LAG Security dropped by on the way to the recent crime in the neighbourhood. They are urging people to organise as this situation is not likely to go away unless we do.
If everyone is willing and if Banana Beach will accommodate us, I would suggest we meet at El Divino at 6pm on Monday evening. If you can come along, I’ll keep a tally and inform everyone on this list as to whether we look like we’re having a meeting or not.
I would urge you to let your neighbours know about this meeting and to get as many people as you can to come. If you can, get their email address so we can add them to this list. This is about all of our safety.

Attention residents in Escalante subdivision, Alta Mar, San Pablo and San Marcos in San Pedro Town, Belize - there will be a community meeting held at El Divino/Banana Beach Resort tonight at 6pm to address concerns about the escalating number of burglaries and assaults. The goal of the meeting is to organize the neighbourhood watch groups - provide contact information to be put into a central data base so that we can call one another in times of need or to report when we see suspicious activity and to create a united group heading forward to become a "voice" when demanding that Government provide us with more security and get the crime situation under control. Please pass this information along to your neighbours that do not use computers. Please make an effort to attend if you are also concerned about your welfare and the safety of your neighbourhood.
