Its December and Ambergris Caye has had a week of cool weather. The Caribbean waters at the Barrier Reef have dropped to 78f./26c. still warm by most standards but chilly for the local divemasters but good for the corals.
January's starting temperatures are 79-80f. The visibility was 100'+ yesterday. The coolness of the water doesn't allow some plankton growth that effects visibility.
June 2nd and the water temperature at depth is 82f.or 27.7 Celsius. Turtle mating is triggered by the water temp as well as the time of the year and the Loggerheads are cruising the reef on Ambergris. I expect it to be 83f.+ in a few weeks.
