Who are the Browns and where do they live?
What kind of engine is being stolen ?

Chain up the boats to slow these jerks down.

Cable wrapping the foot to the engine and Boat to engine with a heavy padlock works.
The motors foot is a high dollar idem and easily taken off. Most go for about $2000.bz
Being able to see you boat from your house is good and a dog is golden for alarm barking.
One of the neighborhood dogs sleeps in a chair that looks out over the dock,he and I have a deal, I leave fresh water and food outside by the chair and he barks like a lunatic when someone walks out on the dock.

A boat lift is a costly but effective way to secure your boat and engine.

There are locks that you can put on your motor foot - be sure to use a different bolt lock for each bolt. It takes time to figure it all out and that extra time might buy an owner a chance to catch a thief.

The dogs, the cameras, the fancy gps gizmos are all helpful, but we need to knuckle down and stem the tide of thefts!

I believe the Brown's are a local family of Fisherman. From what I understand they live on the back side of the island "in the river". You may recognise the names of their boats.... "Amanda", Zoe, and a big boat with a Spanish name that I can't quite remember... "something nos levas"

Zoe has no engine on it right now and I was told it has a 115 four stroke.

Cheers,
Carlos

When I look at Carlos' time stamp it says 17:18 - he lives in the future - I guess that's what they mean by being "way up north."
