The country is currently battling with increasing crime and violence as well as an economic downturn. So in our last poll, we asked viewers which issue they believe is more pressing. Seventy-seven percent voted that crime and violence is the most critical matter while the remaining twenty-three percent say the economic problems are more urgent. One blogger who agrees with the majority commented that; “we can learn to spend less, work hard to keep our jobs, and account for every penny, but how can we deal with each day thinking that it can be our last?” Another valid point was made by one of the persons who voted for the economy; they are of the view that the high unemployment and poverty rates are driving many persons to turn to criminal activity. Turning to tonight’s question: Do you expect more job losses in the year ahead given the grim economic outlook?
