A flash flood caused major damage to the Southern Highway north of the Placencia Junction last night.

Traffic in this area will be interrupted for an extended period of time.



This means interruption of road deliveries in and out of the Peninsula and bus schedules.

“A temporary diversion through a nearby banana farm has been created and very limited traffic is being allowed to pass the area where a large portion of the Southern Highway has been washed out. No small vehicles or passenger buses are being allowed. Only trucks and 4-wheel drive vehicles are being allowed on the temporary diversion.”
