BTL cannot hook up more land-lines in our area (mata grande) - this affects folks north of here, not sure how far south as well.
Installers say maybe in a couple of months they'll upgrade their connections to be able to handle more subscribers.

Diane-what about their relatively new phones that get phone and internet in remote areas where regular cell phones don't even work. Or Smart?

Fortunately we have one land-line now and can wait a bit to see if they get more - for others who need new service it may be that they need this other stuff. Our local technicians had no suggestions but for information's sake I'll ask again.

Contact btl. We experimented with it and was amazing to be able to make calls in remote areas regular cell could not get reception. BTL installed these in Placencia. Ask. Or call btl main office in Belize City.
