Maybe time for Hol Chan to limit the size of boats/groups.
Even the best dive guides may find it a challenge to supervise a large group - we all kinda look alike under water.

The rangers at the park must have discretionary license to monitor and have control over what does not appear to be safe. Common sense safety issues should prevail

Any one with any common sense knows that boat is overloaded no matter what the law says. If there was an accident are you going to sleep better because were "legal" That is how people get killed.

I have often seen boats from the cruise ships with over 75 snorkelers at the dive sites off Caye Caulker and San Pedro. Should you limit them as well? Just asking.

that's true I've seen it already. To avoid accidents Hol Chan should have a limit amount per boat.

If it looks like the Mariel Boat Lift, probably.

The Tsunami Tours folks explained the situation. Why is this thread still active? What does everyone want to hear? I don't get it.

LETS SET THE STORY RIGHT
The photo was posted to show the boat looked overloaded
most thought this was sad ,As this was a company that just
lost two tourists at the same spot .In April drowned.
I Think the report said one tour guide for seven people no captand a tour guide just one tour guide/capt one guy!!! .This post was not about that, but how this looked very bad .yes flordia companys do that ,but thats just wrong too.Wrong is Wrong. MOST THOUGHT THE PHOTO LOOKED
LIKE A PROBLEM WAITNG TO HAPPEN AGAIN ..
If you want us to shut up we will .
BUT GET THE FACTS RIGHT.THE PHOTOS PUTS THE BOAT IN A BAD WAY AND SCARY FOR SOME OF US.

Economics should never trump safety. Leaving the questions of prudence or safety aside. My only question would be were there 46+ flotation devices aboard?
