I have noticed a new trend in Belize and it has nothing to do with sinful crimes and annoying child molesters – it is called blogging my friends. Bloggers from all parts of Belize are writing about Belize and exposing Belize to the whole world in a way that you have never been seen before. Some are writing about the wonders of Belize; some speak about the Belizean food. How is this benefiting Belize you might ask. Well to put in simple words, blogging has dramatically assisted in the development of our country anyway you take it. You think McAfee just picked up his bags one day and headed to Belize? No, he did the smart thing first, which is reading about Belize online as much as possible and then decided to come to Belize. Well, blogs gave him the information he needed – that is the power of blogging.
Since the introduction of blogs we can finally write good things about Belize and ignore the bad things. Blogging has spread so fast that the majority of online users are using the technology without even knowing. A status update on Facebook can be categorized as blogging, even a tweet. The headache about blogging is that there are millions and countless of blogs online that speak exactly about the same thing that it is so hard to rank highly on the most popular search engines. This means that you will probably not get the exposure you seek for you content and blogs. Everybody competes for ranking in search engines and well it is not all about content anymore -- it is about creativity.
If you are interested in becoming a better blogger here are the 5 E's for successful blogging in Belize
. 1. Exposure
There is nothing like showing off to gain more traffic and attention, and yes my friends, this is exactly what you need to do to maintain a successful blog with plenty of daily visitors. You can use social media networks to share links and show off some of your excellent articles to the world. Facebook and Twitter are the most popular social media networks on the web and if you are an internet guru then more than likely you have an account there. 2. Entertainment
Readers basically go to read blogs that contain excellent and exciting articles. Behind every great blog post there is a great blogger/author. You must not only know how to write good content but also know how to put it in a way that it won’t put the reader to sleep after reading the first three lines of your article. Show your true colours and express yourself when writing because at the end of the day it all depends on your style of writing. If you maintain a constant attitude towards your articles readers will dig this and will want to keep returning to your blog. 3. Excellence
You may not be a perfect or professional writer but it doesn’t hurt to try to write as neatly and harmonious as you can. In order for readers to take you seriously you must be able to write excellent and professional blog posts. My advice is that you keep reading other blogs and capture the good parts of their articles and embed those ideas in your writing. 4. Endurance
This is my favourite. Sometimes you may not get the feedback that you expect for an excellent article that you wrote. This doesn’t mean that you don’t have a future in blogging or that you suck at writing. Probably you are missing one of the E’s above or maybe you are just targeting the wrong audience. There are many things that will push you to want to give up blogging – this is no excuse for you to give up blogging just yet. Perseverance is the key to success. You must keep your head up high and keep writing and keep believing that one day you will write the article of your life and then you will sit and forget of the bad moments that you had and drink a toast to your success. 5. Effective
When writing an article about something that is producing a lot of noise in your community always try to be as clear and effective as possible. You must write with passion and mean what you mean and only so will you be effective. If you have followed the 4 E’s from above you are absolutely in the right path to produce an effective article. If your articles receive a few likes, comments, and a couple of retweets then you are pretty much on the right track to becoming an effective and successful blogger.
