I know this will sound like one of the stupidest posts you've proably ever seen!
But- I just wanted to know before I get there and regret it. [Linked Image]
I have to have sunflower seeds while I'm baking in the sun- last year in Jamaica I sadly discovered they didn't have any- anywhere! Should I just bring ample supplies with me - or can I find them on San Pedro?

I would have to say bring them . I can't say for sure whether or not you can find them but i'm thinking not. On one trip i encountered a local who had never had sunflower seeds-it was quite an experience explaining how to eat them. Melissa

I believe it is illegal to bring any seeds or agricultural products across the border.
Pumpkin seeds are the local snack in San Pedro. You can find them roasted plain or spicy.

Bring them. You won't find any down there. I ALWAYS eat sunflower seeds when fishing...shared them with our guide, and he started eating them shell and all!

Sunflower seeds are available at most local grocery stores. They are wrapped in plain cellophane wrappers and are referred to as "pipito's" (I believe that's the pronounciation). They are good, although not as good as "David's", my personal favorites. The pipito's are cheap, I believe $.25US. A word of warning... pipito's are considered a sure fire sign of sexual flustration in Belize, so don't be surprized if ya get some "string alongs". I once saw a young blond girl walking the beach with pipito's with 20 followers. Good luck!
